Russian warplanes 'HARASS US destroyer warship carrying Tomahawk missiles near Syria' - DAILY NEWS

Russian warplanes 'HARASS US destroyer warship
carrying Tomahawk missiles near Syria' A US destroyer bristling with Tomahawk missiles
was harassed by Russian warplanes near Syrian territorial waters, according to Turkish
media reports. The USS Donald Cook, an Arleigh Burke-class
guided missile destroyer, was approached by Russian planes 100km from Tartus, a city on
Syrias Mediterranean coast, Turkish news agency IHA reported. The US warship, equipped with more than 60
Tomahawk missiles, was buzzed by the Russian aircraft after departing from the port of
Larnaca, Cyprus, the news agency claimed. The Russian planes, whose type was not named,
swooped low on the ship four times during the encounter, it is claimed.

A US guided-missile destroyer has "moved toward
the Syrian coast", according to the Wall Street Journal. The alleged incident was reported just hours
after US President Donald Trump vowed a forceful response to the chemical attack in Syria. "We cannot allow atrocities like that. Cannot allow it," Trump told reporters at
the White House, warning those responsible he has a lot of options militarily.

He said a decision to launch a retaliatory
strike on Syria would be made tonight or very shortly thereafter. Both the US Navy and Pentagon has denied reports
the USS Donald was harassed by the Russians, according to Ragp Soylu, Washington correspondent
for Daily Sabbah. He tweeted: Both the Pentagon and the US
Navy denied the news. In another tweet, he added: US Navy Spokesman
says all of the details in Turkish media report about US destroyer Donald Cook are false.

Daily Star Online has reached out to a US
Navy representative for comment. In a statement released on Monday, the US
Navy said the USS Donald Cook had left Larnaca, Cyprus, after a scheduled port visit. The destination of the ship, the 25th destroyer
of her class, was not disclosed by the US. Navy.

"The Donald Cook crew had an amazing time
during this port visit to Larnaca, Cyprus, said Donald Cooks Command Master Chief
Jeremy Douglas. The people were very welcoming and the
city was beautiful. These types of visits help build long lasting
relationships , which are crucial to our mission." Trump said the US is still investigating the
possible involvement of the Iranian and Russian governments in the apparent strike on Douma. "If it's Russia, if it's Syria, if it's Iran,
if it's all of them together, we'll figure it out," he said.

He added of Russian president Vladimir Putin,
"everybody's going to pay a price  he will, everybody will". The attack comes almost exactly a year after
a chemical atrocity in the northern Syrian town of Khan Sheikhoun killed dozens of people. That attack prompted the US to launch several
dozen Tomahawk cruise missiles at a Syrian air base. Russia and Syria have blamed Israel for an
attack on a Syrian military airport on Monday that reportedly killed at least 14 people..

Russian general warns 'Putin will NOT accept defeat and nuclear war is INEVITABLE' - DAILY NEWS

Russian general warns 'Putin will NOT accept
defeat and nuclear war is INEVITABLE' A NUCLEAR conflict between Russia and the
US is inevitable because Vladimir Putin will never accept any kind of defeat,
an ex-Soviet general has warned. Russia would resort to using nuclear weapons
against the US in the event of a military conflict, according to Evgeny Buzhinskiy,
a former Lieutenant-General under the Soviet Union. Because Russia is lagging behind the
US in terms of military power, Putin would rather order a nuclear strike than accept
defeat on the battlefield, he said. Buzhinskiy, who joined the USSRs armed
forces in 1968, said the increasingly acrimonious standoff between Russia and the US is worse
than the Cold War.

"Russia will not accept any kind of defeat,
so the involvement of nuclear weapons is inevitable, he told Channel 4 News. His shocking comments come amid a bitter row
over a suspected chemical attack that killed at least 75 civilians and rebels in the Syrian
town of Douma, Eastern Ghouta. US President Donald Trump ordered his military
to launch almost 100 missiles at alleged chemical weapons facilities across Syria in response
to the toxic attack. Britain and France also took part in the "perfectly
executed strike" that Trump declared could not have had a better result, tweeting:
Mission accomplished.

But the strike against the Bashar al-Assad,
whose regime has the backing of Putin, has plunged Russian-US relations to new lows,
with both sides exchanging fierce rhetoric. Buzhinskiy, a veteran of 16 years with Russias
General Staff, said the situation has reached an unpredictable stage where tensions could
escalate dangerously. I think its worse than the Cold War,
which we have been waging for 40 years after the Second World War, he said, speaking
to presenter Matt Frei. In the Cold War time I was in the armed
forces and I was quite comfortable Id say.

There were definite duels and definite
red lines  everybody knew what to do. There were no threats, no sanctions, no
isolation, no cornering, no nothing. There was just ideological confrontation,
but people on both sides knew how far they could go. When asked if the US and Russia might face
off against each other with nuclear weapons, he replied: Of course.

I repeat, you cannot control military confrontation
between Russia and the United States. Of course Russia cannot wage a war against
the United States. For years, economically it cannot. In the general purpose forces, we are a
bit lagging behind the United States.

And of course, Russia will no accept any
kind of defeat. So the involvement of nuclear weapons is
inevitable. Left incredulous by his apocalyptic remark,
the presenter asks: Are you trying to scare us or do you actually mean this? He said in response: I am scared myself,
because I have children and grandchildren, so Im scared for their fate. Last week Buzhinskiy warned that Putin would
respond in kind if Russian blood is spilled during the US-led Syria strike.

We have several thousands advisers in all
military installation in all military units, he said. If Russian blood is shed then Russia will
retaliate. British Prime Minister Theresa May today accused
Russia of preventing international inspectors from reaching the site of the Syrian chemical
weapons attack. Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov said
relations between Moscow and the West were worse than at the time of the Cold War.

He said the UK, NATO and European Union had
closed the normal channels of communication with Russia which provided safeguards against
confrontation. "I think it is worse, because during the Cold
War there were channels of communication and there was no obsession with Russophobia, which
looks like genocide by sanctions," he told the BBC..

Russian and Chinese warships chase US fleet approaching North Korea - DAILY NEWS

Russian and Chinese warships chase US
fleet approaching North Korea RUSSIA and china have reportedly sent ships
to shadow a US fleet sent to threaten North Korea. Donald Trump sent an armada of warships
including nuclear aircraft carrier USS. Carl Vinson  to warn Kim Jong-un against
testing a nuclear weapon or intercontinental ballistic missile. The fleet  which also includes nuclear
submarines  is approaching the Korean peninsula.

Russia and China have sent spy vessels to
follow the strike group, military officials have said. China, in particular, is concerned about the
US military build-up in its back yard. It claims the THAAD missile defence system
America has offered to protect ally South Korea from attack from its trigger happy neighbour
is really meant to spy on Beijing. Russia and Chinas intelligence-gathering
vessels will follow and watch the US navy group closely.

Citing multiple sources in the government,
Japans largest newspaper said the ships are strengthening warning and surveillance
activities in the waters and airspace around the area. China  which backed North Korea in the
Korean War  has warned World War 3 could break out at any time unless Trump and Crazy
Kim cool it. Trump appeared to be backing away from a pre-emptive
strike on the Hermit Kingdom. But the unpredictable president told his North
Korean counterpart he has gotta behave" yesterday.

North Korea's deputy representative to the
UN, Kim In Ryong, accused Washington of creating "a situation where nuclear war could break
out an any time" and said Pyongyang's next nuclear test would take place "at a time and
at a place where our headquarters deems necessary." North Korea's vice foreign minister Han Song-Ryol
said missiles would continue to be tested on "a weekly, monthly and yearly basis." Kim Song Gyong, director general of the European
Department of North Korea's Foreign Ministry, said the communist regime would strike first
and "destroy the aggressors without any mercy if Washington made "the slightest movement"
to make a nuclear strike. He went on to clarify that the approach of
the US naval strike force would not be considered enough to constitute "the slightest movement". Trumps number two, Mike Pence warned Kim
not to test the new US presidents resolve  pointing to Americas devastating strikes
on Syrian and Afghanistan over the past few days. And he confirmed the White House was still
considering military action, saying: All options are on the table.

He said: "North Korea would do well not to
test his resolve or the strength of the armed forces of the United States in this region..

Russia reveal they are planning MAJOR RETALIATION against US as World War 3 fears rise - DAILY NEWS

Russia reveal they are planning 'MAJOR RETALIATION'
against US as World War 3 fears rise PUTINs government has announced it is making
preparations for a major response to the US. After Trump ordered fresh sanctions against
Russia, as tensions between the two world powers continues to dramatically deteriorate. Earlier this month the US announced it had
added 38 Russian entrepreneurs, senior officials and companies to its sanctions list as part
of an effort to crack down on the countrys malign activity taking place across
the globe. Now the Kremlin has confirmed it is working
on retaliatory measures to hit back at the Trump administration.

Russias Transport Minister Maxim Sokolov
confirmed the news. He said: I will not announce anything,
we are working on that. A firm response to the sanctions from Putin
was already expected and a bill outlining potential reactionary measures was presented
to the Russian parliament earlier this week. It considered measures such as banning imports
of US agricultural, alcoholic, and tobacco products as well as medical drugs.

However, Mr Sokolovs announcement is a
direct indication Putins government are actively considering how to react. Relations between Washington DC and Moscow
have nosedived since the poisoning of ex-Russian spy Sergei Skripal on UK soil. Supporting the UKs view that the Kremlin
was responsible for the attack, Trump expelled dozens of diplomats from the US. However, diplomatic relations have deteriorated
further since then after the US, UK and France launched airstrikes on Syrian military bases
in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Military action was taken against the Barzah
Research and Development Centre outside Damascus with 76 missiles and what the US military
described as the Him Shinshar Chemical Weapons Complex outside the city of Homs. The strikes were an act of retaliation after
an alleged chemical attack by the Assad regime on Syrian civilians a week ago. However, both the Syrian government and Russia
deny any incident took place. Russia sent a grave warning to the US ahead
of the military intervention and warned Trump not to go ahead with the attacks.

Putin is yet to announce how he will respond
to the airstrikes going ahead..

Russia KICKS OUT Brit diplomats as spy row ERUPTS - DAILY NEWS

Russia KICKS OUT Brit diplomats as spy row
ERUPTS. RUSSIA has ordered British diplomats to leave
the country as the row over the poisoning of Sergei Skripal erupts. Moscow has demanded they leave in less than
a week. It comes amid a bitter stand off between Britiain
and the Kremlin after Skriplal, 66, and daughter, Yulia, 33, were attacked with a nerve agent
in Salisbury.

Russia has also closed down the British Council
in its country. Earlier this week the UK expelled 23 Russian
diplomats, after Prime Minister Theresa May, 61, ordered the Kremlin to explain the attack. Russia failed to meet May's deadline to respond
after she concluded it was "highly likely" the attack was state-sponsored. The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the
British ambassador, Laurie Bristow, to a meeting on Saturday morning in central Moscow at its
Stalin-era headquarters.

Bristow told reporters afterwards that the
crisis had arisen after "the attempted murder of two people using a chemical weapon developed
in Russia". Britain had only expelled the Russian diplomats
after Moscow had failed to explain how the nerve toxin had got to Britain, he said. "We will always do what is necessary to defend
ourselves," the ambassador told reporters. Russia has accused Britain of failing to provide
any evidence.

Yesterday MPs in the UK piled the pressure
on May to consider withdrawing from the World Cup in Russia in June. Labour MP John Woodcock said: "I would like
to see a parliamentary debate on whether concerted Government action together with other countries
to postpone the World Cup or move it to another venue would be the right way to go. "This is a decision which should be shared
between the Government, the fans and the FA. "I dont want to see anyone dictated to
and I am not calling for England to unilaterally withdraw from the tournament.

"But there is a growing appetite among MPs
to push for concerted international action over the World Cup. "It should be on the table because of the
appalling magnitude of what Russia has done.".

Russia caught smuggling MISSILE FUEL into North Korea - DAILY NEWS

Russia caught smuggling MISSILE FUEL into
North Korea RUSSIA is helping North Korea by smuggling
missile-building fuel into the Hermit State, it has been claimed. After Daily Star Online reported China has
been going behind the worlds back and helping nuke-nut leader Kim Jong-un, it appears Russia
has followed suit. Security sources say Russian ships loaded
with petrol have been meeting up with North Korean vessels at sea and transferring the
loads. The petrol, stored in huge containers, could
be used to fuel Kims ballistic missiles as his bid to wipe out the US pushes the world
closer to an all-out war.

The sources told Reuters Russian tanks carried
fuel to the communist country at least three times in October and November. The illegal move is in breach of United Nations
sanctions, and threatens to spark fury from US President Donald Trump. Speaking on condition of anonymity, one western
security source said: "Russian vessels have made ship-to-ship transfers of petrochemicals
to North Korean vessels on several occasions this year in breach of sanctions. The vessels are smuggling Russian fuel
from Russian Far Eastern ports to North Korea.

A second source independently confirmed the
incidents, but said there was no concrete evidence of Russian state involvement. They said: "There is no evidence that this
is backed by the Russian state  but these Russian vessels are giving a lifeline to the
North Koreans." The two sources cited naval intelligence and
satellite imagery of the ships operating out of Russian Far Eastern ports. They also revealed the ships have been switching
off their transponders when they get to open sea, meaning their exact locations cant
be pinpointed. The move comes after months of attempts by
Trump to pally up with Russia and China in a bid to win their support over North Korea.

But if the smuggling claims are true, his
work will have pulled off the opposite effect..
